What is the production process of laser film?

The production of holographic film involves a series of precise processes, including material preparation, coating, embossing, and post-processing. The detailed process is as follows:

1. Substrate Preparation:

Select an appropriate substrate material (such as PET film, glass, or plastic), clean and polish the surface to ensure it is free of impurities and defects.

2. Coating and Film Design:

A protective layer and an imaging layer are applied to the substrate (using anilox roller or gravure printing). The protective layer provides a separation effect, while the imaging layer is used for subsequent laser pattern formation. The film thickness and refractive index must be precisely calculated to achieve specific optical properties.

3. Laser Holographic Embossing:

A holographic pattern (such as a plain surface, heart, or snowflake texture) is embossed onto the imaging layer using a laser, creating a dynamic light pattern. This step requires real-time optical monitoring to ensure quality.

4. Vacuum Aluminum Coating:

Aluminum is vacuum-coated on the embossed film surface to enhance the metallic luster and reflectivity, increasing visual impact.

‌5. Printing and Transfer Application‌:

For specific products (such as badges or packaging), additional steps are required:

Design and Engraving Film Production: Cut the laser film using a cutting machine or laser cutting technology.

Heat Transfer Process: Place the laser film on the substrate (such as a T-shirt or packaging box) and heat and press it in a heat press (150°C for approximately 15 seconds) to transfer the pattern, then peel it off cold.

‌6. Post-Processing and Quality Inspection‌:

The film is cut to the desired size, polished, and impurities removed. Finally, optical testing equipment is used to test transmittance, reflectivity, and other indicators. Only qualified products are packaged and shipped.

The entire process emphasizes optical performance control and standardized quality inspection to ensure reliable application in packaging, decoration, and other fields.
